Upcycling

Thrifting is fun, sustainable and deeply underappreciated! There are so many items of decor already, there really is no need to buy new all the time. Instead, I like going on treasure hunts to find items that just need a bit of tender love and care to enjoy a second chance at life. 

I primarily look for wooden items, or items that can easily be restored and painted. I also look for textiles. Neighbours and friends know to check with me first before they throw anything out - avoiding landfill for those items that can be put to use elsewhere. 

What I enjoy most, I think, is the process of reimagining something. While restoring something that was once loved and cared for, I also like to add a touch of joy - pastels, shine, and even a brain here and there.
